This is one of the so-called "Far Eastern Levi's" that Levi's developed in East Asia, but the model number cannot be read from the paper patch and is unknown because there is no description on the inner tag. The engraving on the back of the button is "347", which indicates that it was made in Hong Kong. The indicated size is 28 inches, but the actual size is extremely thin compared to the one made in the United States, so it is hard to believe that it is the same size. Once upon a time, they might have been found in local clothing stores in Japan, but nowadays, it is difficult to find them.
paper patch
There should have been a stamp for the model number, but I can't read it at all. Also, the waist and length seem to be stamped separately, with the waist clearly reading 28 inches, while the length is thin enough to read "33" somehow.
flasher, guarantee ticket
The flasher and guaranty ticket are held together with a stapler. The design of the flasher is similar to the one of the preshrunk such as 505, but underneath, "Manufactured by Levi Strauss (Far East) Ltd. in The Philliphines according to Levi's world wide high quality standards" is stated, and the flasher manufactured for the so-called Far East Levi's is used. As for the gear runty ticket, it's no different than the one attached to the American-made one.
inner tag
You can tell that it was produced for Japan by the Japanese material, the washing mark, and the cautionary note when washing it. At the bottom is "347 2148 12 76" which means it was made in Hong Kong factory and "12 76" means it was made in December 1976, but the meaning of "2148" is not clear.
back pocket
A near-square back pocket with even arcuate stitching on the left and right, but a straight line near the cross.
top button
Copper-plated iron buttons. I don't see any difference from the ones used for American-made ones. Parallel stitching on the side of the top button.
zipper
Zipper engraved with "LEVIS". Many of them have the Bad Wing logo engraved on them, but these are engraved letters and vertical bars.
rivet
There is almost no difference from the one used in the U.S.A. The U.S.A. version has a horizontal bar between "L.S. & CO." and "S.F." while the U.S.A. version has no horizontal bar.
coin pocket
There is no omission of coin pockets or rivets, and it is made in the same way as the American-made red tabs of the time.
