Youth model 504ZXX, a zippered version of the 501xx, from the no-galler paper patch period. It still has a hidden rivet, but unlike the dead stock and used ones shown elsewhere, it has a belt loop over the back seam, so it must have been made in 1964 or 1965. It is still in dead stock condition with some glue on it.
paperpatch
"Every Garment Guaranteed" notation on a no-galler paper patch." While there is "Made In U.S.A.", there is no notation of "100% Cotton" and "WPL423". The tape keeps the prototype barely intact, but it's hardened to the point where it would definitely be damaged if worn as is.
back pocket
Only the arcuate stitching is yellow, the rest of the pockets are stitched orange. The arcuate stitches have wide stitch spacing.
red tab
Double-sided tabs with LEVI'S embroidery on both sides." V" is the same thickness on both sides.
belt loop
It's no longer an offset belt loop, and the belt loop is now attached over the middle seam. You can see that this is the final period of the XX without guarantee.
conceal rivet
The hidden rivets on the back pocket were abolished and replaced with a cannubis stopper in the most recent model of the last XX, but the hidden rivets are still attached.
coin pocket (back)
Stitched in single stitch. Because the fabric is used vertically, the selvedge does not come out.
outseam, selvedge
Both the upper and lower threads are stitched in yellow, which is unusual for this age group. The hem stitching is also large.
